Simple Guide to Good HealthHere are some things parents should keep track of to ensure good health.
2. Vaccinations – Get your child vaccinated and keep a record of them. Ask your doctor for a list of required vaccinations and the suggested schedule. Children behind schedule can still be vaccinated. 3. Diet – Make sure your child is getting just the proper amount of nutrients. Consult a dietician if your child is too thin, fat, or is simply not eating enough. Malnutrition can lead to dire consequences. As a parent it is your duty to make sure your kids eat the proper amount and kinds of food. Don’t expect your child to start eating healthy though if you yourselves have bad eating habits. Use vitamins to help supplement your child’s diet. 4. Exercise – Most kids love to move. Allow them to get rowdy and release their energy through play. Children need to exercise to help strengthen and develop muscles and bones. If your child is watching too much TV or playing too much video games prod them into activity. Too much inactivity is definitely bad for them. 5. Socialization – A holistic approach to your child’s health would take into account all aspects of health including mental and emotional health. Make sure your kids spend enough time interacting with other kids of ALL ages to help them become well adjusted individuals in the future. 6. Healthcare Visits – A regular doctor’s checkup will ensure that your child is growing healthy and strong. Doctors aren’t there to simply cure the sick but to help ensure that healthy kids stay that way. Your doctor should also keep track of your child’s development and inform you in case something seems to be amiss.

1. Newborn Screening – If you’re expecting a baby make sure that your baby gets screened right after birth. Different states and countries have different tests included in the newborn screening. Check what diseases or diseases are included in your state and explicitly ask for more tests that you feel are needed.
